Investing.com -- Alibaba provides technical support for Chinese military "operations" against targets in the US, according to a Financial Times report on Friday that cited an internal White House national security memo.

The memo reportedly includes declassified "top secret" intelligence detailing how the Chinese technology giant supplies the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) with capabilities that the White House believes threaten US security.

The document states that Alibaba gives the Chinese government and PLA access to customer data including IP addresses, WiFi information, and payment records, as well as various AI-related services.

The memo also claims that Alibaba employees have transferred knowledge about "zero-day" exploits to the PLA. These are previously unknown software vulnerabilities that developers have not had the opportunity to patch.

These allegations reflect growing US concerns regarding Chinese cloud services, artificial intelligence, and Beijing’s ability to access and exploit sensitive data in the United States.
